Tras dejar Ayutthaya, y de camino hacia el Khao Yai National Park, decidimos hacer una breve visita a Lopburi, a poco más de una hora de Ayutthaya. No se trata de una ciudad especialmente interesante, pero sí destaca por la gran cantidad de macacos cangrejeros presentes en sus templos y calles. Costó un poco localizarlos, pero al final los vimos en el Phra Prang Sam Yot, y en las vías de tren cercanas. Ya se podían observar en las calles adyacentes, comiendo desperdicios que les echaba la gente. Después de esta visita nos dirigimos al esperado parque nacional Khao Yai, a hora y media en coche de Lopburi.
After Ayutthaya, we moved to do a short visit to Lopburi (at about 1 hour by car from Ayutthaya). The city is not especially interesting, but it has a huge colony of long-tailed macaques. It was not easy to find them, but finally we were able to see them around the Phra Prang Sam Yot, and the near railways. When we arrived we saw them in the streets, feeding on human waste. After that visit we moved to the Khao Yai National Park, at about 1.5 h by car from Lopburi.
